Client-centered, evidence-based therapy for adolescents, adults and families.

Easy & Secure

Services are covered by many extended health care plans. Appointments are easily managed with online booking and electronic receipts.

Adolescents

A significant part of my practice is working with adolescents (12+) and young adults.

This time in life can be challenging, with many opportunities to find independence, establish identity and build new relationships.

I work with adolescents on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, self-harm and low self-esteem.

No matter how difficult things get, parents and caregivers can be the strongest supports for young people who are struggling.

When appropriate, I offer parent and caregiver consultation sessions to offer strategies and support as they care for their loved one.

Adults

If you're feeling stuck and you're struggling to move forward, I can help.

The first step to any change is awareness. Together we can start to notice the thoughts and behaviours that are getting in your way.

Though increased self-awareness, skill building and practice, you can find a sense of control and freedom.

Because everyone's journey is unique, your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific needs.

Families

Many families struggle with communication breakdowns, conflict, and stress.

These are often brought on by significant life events, like the loss of a loved one or a job, illness, or a variety of life transitions such as marriage, becoming parents or retirement.

Difficulties can also be linked to a pattern of learned behaviour from previous generations.

Your consideration of family counselling shows that you have relationships that matter and that you're open to working towards healing.

This is very valuable to the family counselling process!

Find support as you and your loved ones make space for difficult conversations, find common ground, and learn more effective ways to engage with one another.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare for the first session?

Once we’ve agreed on an appointment date and time, you’ll receive an email confirmation.

A second email will follow with an Intake Form and a Consent Form for you to complete electronically prior to the first session.

You may want to arrive a few minutes early for our appointment to allow yourself time to settle in. Its normal to feel a bit nervous!

Some clients like to bring along a notebook to help them remember important ideas to discuss in session, or to record key take-aways.

Can you bill my insurance directly?

No. Instead, upon receipt of payment for your session, you’ll be sent a receipt via email to support your extended health care benefits claim.

Are session fees covered by OHIP?

No. However, many private insurance plans cover some or all of the session fees. Please check your insurance plan to determine your coverage. You may also be eligible to claim psychotherapy session fees on your tax return.

How many sessions will I need?

This is difficult to say before completing an assessment as people come to therapy for a variety of different reasons. That being said, anecdotally, many clients notice an improvement after just a few sessions. If you know that you’re able to attend for only a set number of sessions, we can work together to tailor the time we have to best meet your needs.

How do I pay?

Major credit cards and e-transfers are accepted. You can provide credit card information securely through your client portal, which I will set up when we schedule our first session.

Is online therapy secure?

In order to protect your privacy, video therapy is provided using a Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)-compliant platform. Please visit the following website for more information:

What kinds of devices can I use for online therapy?

You can use your phone, tablet, or computer for our video sessions. The platform is simple to use from any device with a camera and a microphone. Telephone sessions are also offered.
